What constitutes a Development?

A development is a large-scale commercial project that features significant change to the island. Because of their size, these projects can have an impact on the island, its visitors, residents, and staff.

For commercial developments, a Development Application is required, and they must go through the relevant approvals process. This ensures that the island’s sensitive heritage and environmental values are taken into account.
