Apply for commercial electricity connections and power upgrades
If you need an electricity connection for work or a business, you can apply for a new commercial electricity connection or upgrade the power to your existing site. To do so, you need to supply:
- A completed application form
- A dimensioned site plan identifying the proposed location of the electrical pillar
- Load breakdown with diversification
- Single line diagram
- Statement of conformance to the relevant Australian Standards and WA regulatory requirements.
- Relevant site photos
As the proponent of this work, you’re required to pay any costs for a new commercial connection or power upgrade. The final cost will depend on the type of connection, any relocation or removal required, the site’s intended use, and its location.
Apply to relocate an electrical supply
In some cases, it may be necessary to relocate existing electricity infrastructure, like mini pillars which are typically located in residential areas and supply power to single or multiple residences, or uni pillars which are typically located in commercial areas and supply power to either single or multiple properties, amongst other components of electrical infrastructure.
You may also need to undertake large-scale relocations where multiple assets are affected, such as sections of overhead lines or underground cables, pole-top transformers or ground-mounted substations, or critical plant.
If the work you’re doing requires one or more of these assets to be moved, then you need to submit an Application for Relocation. This includes:
- A completed application form
- A dimensioned site plan that identifies the electrical supply equipment to be moved / affected, with the proposed new location.
- Relevant site photos
As the proponent of this work, you’re required to pay any costs for commercial relocation or removal of any electrical equipment. The final cost will depend on the relocation or removal required, the site’s intended use, and its location.
