New booking website for RIA accommodation
A new website to book Rottnest Island Authority (RIA) accommodation was launched today.
A new website to book Rottnest Island Authority (RIA) accommodation was launched today.
stayrottnest.com offers several new features including the option to search for accommodation by location and date and the ability to book two different types of accommodation in a single transaction.
In response to feedback, customers will be offered alternative dates to book where there is limited availability.
The new website will retain the Queue-it online ‘waiting room’ which randomly allocates a position in the online queue when bookings open. The Queue-it tool also helps to manage peak loads on RIA’s systems during booking ’Open Days’.
stayrottnest.com replaces the current RIA booking system available via rottnestisland.com which will no longer show availability of RIA accommodation or take bookings.
RIA Director Visitor Services Deborah Taylor thanked the team which developed and implemented the new booking website.
“Our dedicated staff and contractors know how important this new booking system is to guests seeking to stay in RIA accommodation,” Ms Taylor said.
“They have worked very hard to deliver a more customer-friendly booking system.”
“We are very aware that our accommodation is incredibly popular with West Australians and also with visitors from interstate and overseas.
“At peaks periods more than 15,000 people can be seeking to book one of 1500 available places available so we want to make the booking experience as seamless as possible.
“Being able to show alternative dates for accommodation may help some customers to secure their preferred unit or chalet if their dates are flexible.
“We are excited to launch stayrottnest.com which we believe will offer an improved level of service to visitors. And there are more new features to be delivered in the coming months.”
The next Open Day is for bookings in August 2023 and will start at 8.30am on Wednesday 7 December 2022.
