Prominent cultural leader and a global hotel expert appointed to Board

The Rottnest Island Authority (RIA) has welcomed the appointment of two new Board members and the extension of a third long-term member.

Pamela Thorley and Anneke Brown have joined the RIA Board and Louise Watson, originally appointed in 2020, has had her term extended until 2026.

Pamela Thorley is a Noongar Menang woman and is Chair of the Wadjemup Aboriginal Reference Group (WARG). The WARG is a minister-appointed group consisting of Aboriginal community members and provides cultural guidance to RIA on cultural heritage management and reconciliation matters related to Wadjemup / Rottnest Island.

Anneke Brown is originally from Perth but has spent much of her 25-year career travelling the world working on global hotel projects. On returning to Perth, Anneke was part of the Old Treasury Building refurbishment and was General Manager of COMO The Treasury from 2015 to 2020.
