The Wadjemup Project is a state-wide Aboriginal-led project facilitated by Rottnest Island Authority with support from the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.
Significant improvements have been completed at West End, further enhancing the experience for visitors venturing to the most western point of the island.
Culture, conservation and sustainability lead the new five-year plan outlining the agency's approach to managing Rottnest Island and its surrounding waters.

Rottnest Island Airport will be temporarily closed from 17 July to 14 August 2025 (inclusive) to allow for essential safety upgrades.

The Wadjemup Project Steering Group (WPSG) was awarded the Caring for Country and Culture Award at the National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony held in Boorloo / Perth on Saturday 5 July 2025.
