The proposed plans are available for inspection at:
  • Rottnest Island Authority office located at E-Shed on Peter Hughes Drive, Fremantle during the hours of 8.30am and 5.00pm; and,
  • Rottnest Island Visitors Centre (on Rottnest Island) during the hours of 7.30am and 5.00pm.

Community Information Session
A Community Information Session will be held on Monday, 13 November 2017 between 4.30pm and 6.00pm in the Maritime Museum Boardroom located on the first floor of the Maritime Museum in Fremantle. Access is via the main entry on the first floor.

Submission of Comments
Submissions can be undertaken by completing an online Submission Form.
Comments on the proposal must be submitted to the Rottnest Island Authority in writing preferably by email using the electronic form to consultation.rottnest@dbca.wa.gov.au on or before Sunday, 26 November 2017. If you require further space to write your submission, please attach additional pages to the enclosed form. Please be advised that, the content of your submission may be made available to the applicant to provide the opportunity for the applicant to respond to the issues raised in any submission. Personal details such as names, telephone numbers and addresses will be removed.
Please note all comments received will be summarised and presented to the Rottnest Island Authority Board. All persons and organisations that made a submission during the comment process will be informed in writing of the Rottnest Island Authoritys determination and this will generally occur within 30 days of the Development Application being determined.

What does the application propose?

When are submissions due on the Development Application?
Submissions must be received by the RIA on or before Sunday, 26 November 2017 via consultation.rottnest@dbca.wa.gov.au OR posted to Rottnest Island Authority P.O. Box 693 FREMANTLE WA 6959.

What will be used to assess the Development Application?
In conjunction with all comments received during the community consultation process, the RIA will assess the proposal against the Rottnest Island Management Plan and the Development Planning Guidelines before forwarding the proposal to the Board for determination. Additionally, the proposal will be referred to various government agencies to assess against various environmental and aboriginal heritage considerations.

Will this restrict access to the beach?
No. The footpath at the front which connects with McCallum Avenue is to remain as is McCallum Avenue.
