Rendered new on Rottnest

The 159-year-old Rottnest Island Museum has been given a new lease of life.

The acrylic paint on the exterior walls of the 1857 building has been stripped back and replaced with render and a white wash.
Rottnest Island Authority heritage officer Patsy Vizents said the essential work meant the building, which was the same age as the chapel across the road, would be standing for many more years to come.
