Fresh eyes for Rotto

Michelle Reynolds wants to see new businesses and new experiences on Rottnest Island.

The new Rottnest Island Authority (RIA) chief executive said her first task was to ensure the RIA was the most professional it could be and was contributing to the holiday destination in a positive way.
"People have a great experience on the island but organisationally I want to ensure we are the best we can be," Ms Reynolds said. "It's about makingsure we are professionally pitched." The Nedlands resident has been to Rottnest only a handful of times but believes this will be a positive in the new role that she started on January 4.
"I can look at the island with fresh eyes," she said. She is looking forward to working with a new Labor State Government. "It's perfect timing because a new government brings with it new priorities and an opportunity to recalibrate how and why things are done," Ms Reynolds said. "As a brand new CEO, I'll be working with the new government on that process."
Ms Reynolds was the chief executive of WorkCover WA, a State Government agency, since 2008 and took opportunities with the Office of Science and the State Emergency Management Committee during her nine-year stint.
