The Minister for Tourism has announced the arrival of 'Chokka the Quokka' to the Rottnest Island Visitor's Centre for the first time.

In addition to being an Easter staple, $2 from every chocolate quokka sale is donated to quokka conservation. In partnership with the Margaret River Chocolate Company, the Rottnest Foundation have raised more than $10,000 to support the Island's quokka population since 2017.

Sales of 'Chokka the Quokka' will also support a long-term quokka monitoring program to be launched by the Rottnest Island Authority in spring.

Informed by three years of research in collaboration with the University of Western Australia, the monitoring program will ensure the ongoing examination of the quokka population's health, and will play a pivotal role in the protection of this vulnerable species.

If you would like to play a role in quokka conservation, you can purchase 'Chokka the Quokka' from the Rottnest Island Visitor's Centre, or Margaret River Chocolate Company stores in Perth City, Swan Valley and Margaret River.
