ANZAC Day Dawn Service Cancellation

Anzac Poppy Following the Australian Government’s advice that any non-essential, organised gatherings of more than 500 people should not go ahead, and the RSLWA’s decision to cancel their ANZAC Day commemorations, the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Thomson Bay has also been cancelled.  

This difficult decision has not been made lightly and is for the safety, health and welfare of everyone on the Island – especially those who are elderly and among the most vulnerable to COVID-19.

RIA will continue to explore alternative ways to recognise the service and sacrifice that is honoured in the traditional ANZAC Day service.
